The new PC drivers will enable the Xbox One controller to be used with any game that featured gamepad support for the Xbox 360 controller. Simply download the drivers, connect your Xbox One controller to your computer through a micro USB cable and you’ll be gaming in no time. How do I update my Xbox One controller? For best performance, you need to make your Xbox One controller up-to-date. Or if the Windows doesn’t install the controller driver automatically, follow the guide here to update your Xbox One controller.
Cannot get my Xbone controller to work in windows 10.
I have Windows 10, fully updated. I took my Xbox One controller with the USB cord and plugged it in. The controller lights up, but it would not work when I was trying to use it to with my streaming xbox one to my computer. It said I needed to use a controller, like nothing was connected to the computer. I checked the driver and it said just 'Xbox controller'. So I checked to make sure Windows 10 had all the updates, and it did. So I then went and found the link for the Xbox one controller driver and downloaded and installed it. I told it to update the drivers, and it still wouldnt add the Xbox one controller drivers. Finally I manually found the driver and applied it to the controller. So now it says its a 'microsoft xbox one controller', but the nothing is still recognizing it. I started a Xbox One stream, and it still says 'This PC isnt connected to an Xbox controller. Attach one and try again'. This is after rebooting each time I updated or 'installed' a driver. What do I do? Why is this not plug and play?
EDIT- I tried over and over to use the controller with the Xbox One streaming, and none of the buttons on the controller do anything, unless I press and hold the Xbox 'home' button. It will then pop up a message on the xbone asking if I want to turn off the system. I dont get it. So it does seem there is some functionality, but just the lit 'X' button and only allowing me if I want to turn off the console. Then I cannot use the buttons to push 'close', I have to hold the 'Home' button again to go back to dashboard.
EDIT AGAIN- I tested the controller with a PC game and it worked fine. So it seems the problem lies in the Xbox one streaming not working with it. Not sure what to do.
EDIT another time besides the first time and second time- Now this just randomly started happening again. http://imgur.com/CFQMffp Also found that it wont recognize my 360 controller, that has always worked great with the PC. It seems to just be a Xbox one streaming issue, but its so new that I havent found anyone else with the issue. Im at a loss. I cant delete and reinstall the app, I have done all I know to do with drivers (even though its almost certainly not the controllers) I have rebooted and restarted both the computer and xbone. At a loss.

FINAL EDIT/UPDATE- My issue was resolved only a couple of days after this post by one of the Windows 10 updates. Wish I had a better answer for you guys who are experiencing it.
