I need serious help. I've tried everything. I have a Gateway NE56R10u that I had to do a re-install of 7 home premium. When it booted, it has no Network Controller Driver, Base System Device, SM Bus Controller, and I don't have wireless. It will scan your Windows 7 first then download and install 64 bit Gateway official drivers to let your Gateway Laptop work properly. The Gateway Drivers Update Utility keeps your Gateway laptop Windows system up-to-date. It detects which driver updates are relevant to your computer, and then helps you install them quickly and easily.
What am I seeing?
Windows* Device Manager may show Base System Device with an exclamation mark on a yellow question mark:
How to fix it.

Install the latest chipset driver for your system.
What if I still have the error after installing the latest chipset driver?
If you still have the error after rebooting, download the latest Onboard Network Driver for Microsoft Windows*, unzip the file, and run:
appsPROSETDX<OS version>DxSetup.EXE
Gateway Laptop Ethernet Drivers
You may also install the driver without installing any PROSET software by running:

appssetupSETUPBD<OS version>SetupBD.EXE
